Los Angeles: Strictly Come Dancing pro Nikita Kuzmin has split from his girlfriend of five years Nicole Wirt. The dancers have been in a professional and romantic partnership since 2016 after meeting at a German dance school and training under the guidance of Strictly judge Motsi Mabuse.
But their romantic relationship at least appears to have come to a crashing and sudden end as they were together as recently as the summer, performing in a UK dance tour together. Nikita, who is partnered with paralympic swimmer Ellie Simmonds on this year’s series, reportedly decided it was ‘for the best’ the couple went their separate ways. With Nicole based in Germany where she trains regularly at Motsi’s dance school, it’s thought Nikita called time on their long-distance romance. A source said: ‘Nikita wanted to totally focus on this series of strictly and decided a while back he wanted to end his relationship with Nicole. ‘They had been together for five years and it ended up being a mutual decision. Nicole is mainly based in Germany and she is getting busier with work.
‘Nicole used to stay in London to visit Nikita but it was becoming more difficult with their schedules.’
The insider added the exes only want the best for each other and Nikita now wants to focus all his energy on Strictly.
