Chaahat Khanna reacts to the recent court’s order on abortion, says ‘Sad but true’

Mumbai: The Delhi High Court stated on Tuesday that the “final judgement” in abortion cases should recognise a woman’s choice to give birth and the potential of a dignified existence for the unborn child while allowing a 26-year-old married woman to have her 33-week pregnancy medically terminated.

Talking about the same the actress Chaahat Khanna’ opens up and says, “It’s a practical decision, I think the child would have suffered the most if had come into this world .. Sad but true :(“

Note, In the current instance, the petitioner sought to terminate her pregnancy after discovering that the unborn had specific neurological abnormalities.

“In conclusion, the court holds that the ultimate decision in such cases ought to recognise the choice of the mother as also the possibility of a dignified life for the unborn child… This court holds that medical termination of pregnancy ought to be permitted in the present case,” the court ruled.
