Lamborghini hits auto, injures two in Delhi

New Delhi : Two men sustained severe injuries after a Lamborghini rammed into an auto-rickshaw at Savitri Flyover in South Delhi’s CR Park area on Sunday.

The accident took place in the morning, when 21-year-old Rajbir Sardaana, son of a businessman, was on a ride with his three friends including a girl.

The injured individuals have been identified as Shah Alam, the auto driver, and his passenger Prince Gautam, 31, an engineer working with Indigo Airlines.

According to a source, the vehicle was being driven by Rajbir, a resident of the Panchsheel Enclave here. He is studying abroad and has returned to India during his ongoing vacation.

“He along with one Himanshu Batra, Akshit, and Gouri, a friend of Akshit, was on a ride when the incident happened. All the friends of Sardaana left before the police arrived,” the source said.

According to police, they received a call regarding the incident at around 7 a.m.

“ASI Deepak Prasad and head constable Sanjeev reached the spot and found a Lamborghini car with a Haryana number plate and a damaged auto-rickshaw. The injured auto driver and the passenger Prince Gautam were already rushed to Max Hospital, Saket,” said the police.

The police team arrived at Saket Hospital where the injured individuals were undergoing treatment, but they were both unfit to provide any statement regarding the matter.

Meanwhile, the police seized both damaged vehicles, and an FIR was registered against the Lamborghini driver under relevant sections of the IPC.

The injured engineer was on his way to Indira Gandhi International Airport when he met with the accident.

Further investigation into the matter is on.
