Emmerdale actress ‘thanks the stars for aligning’ as Toby-Alexander Smith proposes on the beach in Ibiza… 8 months after welcoming daughter Bonnie Mae

Los Angeles| The Emmerdale actress, took to Instagram on Tuesday night where she announced the happy news with a slew of photographs, and thanked ‘the stars for aligning’ after Toby-Alexander Smith, proposed on a beach in Ibiza.

The couple – who have been in a relationship for three years – welcomed their first child together, daughter Bonnie Mae, in December.

Toby-Alexander was first to make the announcement, posting a shot of himself and Amy cosied up on the beach with her new bling on show, as he wrote: ‘So this happened…’

Amy shared three snaps to her main grid, captioned: ‘Before. During. After.’ which showed them dining at luxurious beach restaurant Aiyanna Ibiza.

In the first selfie, the couple relaxed in the sunshine, and by the last photograph the sun had set and there was an engagement ring on Amy’s wedding finger.

The soap star also took to her Instagram Stories where she uploaded two snaps of herself by the water’s edge looking overwhelmed with happiness.’

In the first, Amy can be seen looking up to the sky, with the caption: ‘Me thanking the stars for aligning,’ while next to the other smiley shot, she wrote: ‘Face says it all.’

Amy and Toby have been in a relationship since 2019 after meeting by chance in the Strictly Come Dancing audience and moved in together in 2020 because of the pandemic.

The couple were sure to praise Strictly for bringing them together by sharing a screengrab of themselves sat together in the audience three years ago.

Toby-Alexander wrote: ‘Thank you! Where it all began bbcstrictly amyvwalsh,’ with Amy adding: ‘Couldn’t write it!’ Amy was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovaries when she was 20 years old, and previously admitted she feared being unable to conceive.

But thankfully, she fell pregnant and became a mum for the first time when she gave birth to baby girl Bonnie Mae in December 2021.

Amy is the sister of Girls Aloud star Kimberly Walsh, and is best known for playing Tracy Metcalfe in the Dales.
