“The timing is really challenging, people interpret what you write, differently,” What does Big B referring to?

Kaun Banega Crorepati 14 premieres this week on August 7 (Sunday) and the show was launched today (August 3) in the presence of host Amitabh Bachchan. Big B was accompanied by the show makers.

During the launch event, Mr Bachchan talked about everything from what’s new to what hasn’t changed. Speaking of the show’s premise, Big B and the makers announced that this time the show would have a new twist, with only three lifelines, a new and final checkpoint of 75 lakhs, and the finishing and winning amount of 7.5 crores instead of 7 crores.

Talking about how it feels Mr Bachchan said, “Not being able to touch the contestants, not being able to hold their hands or go to their chair, was missing in the past years. The physical distance was a bit different. It’s wonderful to have that back once again. We are able to feel a bit normal. Some of the restrictions we had previously have now been revoked.”

“I feel inspired and stunned hearing the stories of a few contestants. It makes me question, ‘What am I doing?’ Each and everyone who comes to the show contributes to making this show a success in some way or the other,” he added.

When questioned about the changes he has witnessed as an anchor, Big B responded, “The show has always remained the same, because technically, legally we can’t change the format. The anchors on the other regional formats have changed.”

Later, when questioned about one of his vlogs in which he wrote ‘Each time I say never again and yet it all comes back when a commitment has been made’, Big B jokingly remarked “The timing is really challenging, people interpret what you write, differently. When I wrote it, I was referring to one of the films I was filming in Hyderabad. The background was that I decided that I would not shoot for films that required a lot of beard and props, yet I still get a bearded role every time. So it had nothing to do with KBC”

He further spoke about how he preps up for the show saying, “Every day is scary regarding how I should conduct the show. The audience taking part in the show inspires me. I thank them every day as I enter.”

He also acknowledged every technical and crew member involved in the production of the presentation and concluded by saying, “ The percentage of ladies working in the show is equal and that’s amazing.”

The show will begin with a special episode featuring Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, Kargil Former soldier Major D.P Singh, Col. Mitali Madhumita (India’s first woman officer to get the Sena Medal of Gallantry), Padma Vibhushan sportsperson MC Mary Kom, and Padma Shri Sunil Chhetri (Footballer). KBC14 will air Monday through Friday at 9 p.m.
