Varun Sharma on working with Riteish Deshmukh: I have been a huge admirer of his body of work

Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh is all set to don the lawyer’s coat in the comedy reality web show titled ‘Case Toh Banta Hai’. Touted to be India’s first court of comedy, The weekly comedy show will air on a leading OTT platform. The show will also feature digital content creator and social media influencer Kusha Kapila and Bollywood actor Varun Sharma.

Ahead of the show, a trailer launch event took place in the presence of the cast of the show.

Riteish Deshmukh has given us some amazing comedy movies throughout his Bollywood career. Be it Heyy Baby or Dhamaal, Riteish has always managed to make us laugh till we cry.

At the press conference, Riteish Deshmukh opened up about what made him say yes to this show. He said, “First of all, the concept of putting the most bizarre and hilarious allegations against some of the biggest personalities of Bollywood was itself amazing.
But that was also something challenging yet fun. Also, the celebrities who will be present in the witness box are achievers and some of them are my friends. We had to make sure to bring to the table a never-seen-before side of them keeping the humour factor intact while also accusing them. Thanks to the writing team for the commendable job. Overall, it was incredible to be a part of this show as I also got to learn a lot of new things which helped me in becoming a slightly better actor than who I am.

With his stint and perfect comic timings in films like Fukrey and Chhichhore, Varun Sharma has also joined hands with this show to entertain us yet again. The actor also shared his experience and quipped, “A format like Case Toh Banta Hai is new. Overall, the setting of hilariously alleging celebrities instantly made me say yes to it. When it came to me I jumped on to it immediately and had a ball of a time shooting for the entire season.”

Sharing his experience of working with Riteish Deshmukh and Kusha Kapila, Varun averred, “Comedy is a tough genre and perfect timing and reaction is a give and take. I also think that in any project you do or be a part of, you tend to unknowingly imbibe a lot of things from your co-stars. For me, I feel fortunate to work with Riteish Deshmukh as I have always been a huge admirer of his body of work.
With Kusha, I am working with her for the first time and she has got great energy. She is also very spontaneous and a lot of fun.
