Mumbai| After Amar Kaushik’s horror comedy Stree set a new trend in 2018, filmmakers decided to experiment with the same genre in similar formats. While there has been much speculation about the sequel to Stree, nothing has come to fruition as of yet. Nonetheless, Amar Kaushik, who is currently working on Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya, has reportedly locked the script for Stree 2. The first film, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, was a box office success. They will reunite in Stree 2.
According to a leading portal, Amar and his writing team have been working on the script for Stree 2 for some time now, and they have finally agreed on a subject that continues the legacy of the first installment.
The film is scheduled to hit theatres in 2023, reports. Stree and Bhediya appear to be from the same ‘universe.’ Varun Dhawan is expected to appear in Stree 2, as the story of Bhediya eventually leads to Stree 2. In addition, producer Dinesh Vijan is developing a vampire film starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. This is also expected to begin next year.
Meanwhile, all eyes are on Bhediya, which will be released on November 25 and stars Varun and Kriti Sanon.
