Mumbai: KK’s song “Dhoop Paani Bahne De,” written by Gulzar and arranged by Shantanu Moitra, will be released on Monday from the upcoming Pankaj Tripathi film “Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga.”
“Sherdil,” directed by multiple National Award winner Srijit Mukherji, is produced in collaboration with two production houses. KK died on May 31 in Kolkata. He was 53. He was in Joy to play at an event hosted by a local college.
“Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga,” a darkly humorous satire, is based on actual events. It provides insight into the negative impacts of urbanisation, man-animal conflicts, and poverty, which led to a peculiar practise in a community on the outskirts of a protected forest.
In addition to Pankaj Tripathi, Neeraj Kabi and Sayani Gupta will be seen in the pivotal roles in the film. It is set to be released on June 24.
