Prominent singer Bhupinder Singh passed away at the age of 82 in Mumbai on July 18 at a Mumbai Hospital. The singer reportedly passed away due to suspected colon cancer and Covid-related complications. He was popularly known for songs like Dil Dhoondta Hai, Naam Gum Jaayega, Ek Akela Is Shaher Mein, etc.
Mourning the demise of the renowned singer, PM Modi tweeted, “Anguished by the passing away of Shri Bhupinder Singh Ji, who has given memorable songs for decades. His works struck a chord with several people. In this sad hour, my thoughts are with his family and admirers. Om Shanti”.
For the unversed, in his five-decade-long career, the singer has worked with the biggest names in the music industry, such as Mohammed Rafi, RD Burman, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle and Bappi Lahiri, among others.
