Last Film Show (Chhello Show) qualifies for the 95th Academy Awards in a foreign film category

Mumbai: The cinematic masterpiece Last Film Show (Chhello Show), directed by Pan Nalin has been shortlisted for the 95th Academy Awards’ Best International Feature Film category, which is a tremendous honour for the nation.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences jury members released the 2023 Oscar shortlist today. The film, Last Film Show is now one of the 15 foreign titles competing for an Oscar nomination in 2023.

Last Film Show, a film directed by Pan Nalin, was chosen earlier this year to represent India as the 95th Academy Awards’ official entry for Best International Feature Film. In India, it was released in theatres in October, and this month, it was released in the US. The movie is available on OTT in India.

Delighted with the Oscars selection, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Dheer Momaya and director Pan Nalin jointly said, “We are humbled and overjoyed that our heartfelt ode to the cinematic medium Last Film Show (Chhello Show) has been recognized by the world’s preeminent awards body, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, is where the 95th Academy Awards ceremony is slated to take place on March 12, 2023.
