The jury president of the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid, condemned Hindi film “The Kashmir Files” as “propaganda” and “vulgar” that was improper for an artistic and competitive part of such a famous film festival.
His words have damaged the feelings of Indian filmmakers and technicians. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees has taken note of his disparaging and offensive remarks towards famous Producer/Director Shri Vivek Agnihotri.
The FWICE, the oldest and largest union of workers, technicians, and artists in the Indian film industry, which has thousands of members, strongly condemns the words of Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid and demands an immediate unequivocal apology in writing from him. They appeal the Director of the Film Festival to oppose the statement of Nadav Lapid. They are also surprised to note the silence of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting over the entire controversy.
FWICE expresses its sympathy with all of their Film Makers, Producers, Artists, and Technicians in the Indian Film Industry.
