Atul Kulkarni on Noeth-South debate “ I have never understood this”

Laal Singh Chaddha, starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, is one of the most anticipated films of 2022. As the promotions have begun, we have seen Aamir give a screening for everyone, including South celebrities like Chiranjeevi, Naga Chaitanya, and others. Fans of Aamir are eager to watch how the film fared in the midst of the ongoing North vs. South conflict. Now, the film’s writer, Atul Kulkarni, has given his thoughts on the North vs. South argument and even disclosed whether he suffers pre-release anxiety.

In an interview with a leading news portal, Atul, who wrote and translated Forrest Gump into the Aamir and Kareena starring Laal Singh Chaddha, revealed that he ‘doesn’t think’ about the North-South divide and other related issues. He went on to say that Pan-India films have been created for a long time and that people have been viewing them. He did, however, acknowledge that the audience does not always remain the same and that it evolves. Atul, a writer for Laal Singh Chaddha, stated, “I don’t really think about all these things. I believe people watch what they like. We take pride in producing the highest number of films as a nation in the world, and we take pride as a nation having such a rich history of filmmaking. Suddenly we love to make discrimination [over language]. I have never understood this.” He also stated that it is the obligation of filmmakers to present tales in a beautiful manner while not thinking about other things.

Furthermore, Atul was questioned if he is concerned about the film’s release. Over the previous 22 years of his career, the actor-writer has learned not to succumb to the pressures of film release. On Bollywood films not performing well and whether or not it puts pressure on him for Laal Singh Chaddha, Atul stated that the public assesses a picture on its own merit. He stated, “You cannot dictate to the audience whether to watch it or not to watch any film. Right? It just depends on the merit. If people like it, people will see the film. I think it is a completely independent process.”

Aamir recently attended a press conference with Naga Chaitanya and Chiranjeevi to start off the film’s promotion. He and the South’s biggest actors gathered together to face media questions about the film. Aamir also shared a behind-the-scenes video from Laal Singh Chaddha featuring Chaitanya’s character Balaraju. In the video, Chaitanya discussed his experience working with Aamir and stated how heartbroken he was when the film came to an end for him.

Forrest Gump adaption Laal Singh Chaddha stars Tom Hanks. It will be released on August 11, 2022, and directed by Advait Chandan.
