A remake of the 2018 Spanish drama Mirage, Anurag Kashyap directorial Dobaaraa stars Taapsee Pannu, Pavail Gulati and Rahul Bhat in the lead roles. The film is produced by Ekta Kapoor.
Recently, a trailer launch event was held in Mumbai where Anurag Kashyap and Ekta Kapoor were present.
During the press conference, Ekta Kapoor was asked about further working with both the actress. To which she said, “It’s an amazing thing to collaborate with such amazing actors. If there’s an interesting project, I will only approach the actor and request them to read the script.”
She added, “So, it is a heartening thing to work with great actors. They bring in a lot more, Kangana is a brilliant actor and so is Taapsee.”
The producer also reacted to Kangana’s ‘sasti copy’ comment towards Taapsee and quipped, “There’s only one similarity. Both are amazing, trailblazer women. To play them against each other is not our job. We’re women, we shouldn’t be pitting actresses against one another. We adjust each other’s crown, not remove it.”
For those who are unaware, Kangana Ranaut and Taapsee Pannu are often seen taking a dig at each other. It all started when Rangoli Chandel called Taapsee a ‘sasti copy’ of Kangana when the Pink star didn’t praise her sister while lauding Judgementall Hai Kya’s trailer.
Last year, Kangana took a jibe at Taapsee after the latter tweeted about the Income Tax raids at her place. The Queen actress had referred to Taapsee as ‘sasti’ in her tweet, writing, “You will always remain sasti because you are sab rapists ka feminist… your ring master Kashyap was raided in 2013 as well for tax chori… government official’s report is out if you aren’t guilty go to court against them come clean on this … come on sasti.
