Seepz-SEZ honours distinguished women of Mumbai

Mumbai: To show respect, appreciation and love for women, the Office of the Regional Development Commissioner, SEEPZ-SEZ, Andheri celebrated the indomitable spirit of womanhood through various programs on the occasion of International Women’s Day on Tuesday, 8 March 2022. On this occasion, eminent women of Mumbai who made remarkable contributions in the economic, political-social and art world were honoured.

The program was started by lighting the lamp with garlanding on the idol of Maa Saraswati. Dr. Pramila Sharma, the stage operator, invited the Joint Development Commissioner Chandrapal Singh ji to honour the distinguished women guests with flowers and bouquets, along with the Vandana of Maa Saraswati and the lighting of the lamp. Businessman, Social Activist and Writer Dr. Manju Lodha, Entrepreneur and Political Strategist Shweta Shalini, Telefilm Producer-Script Writer Rekha Babbal, TV Actress Pooja Dixit and Kalyani Deshpande, Founder and Owner of Kalyani Jewels & Co. was present. Official Language Consultant Suman Saraswat highlighted the importance of International Women’s Day and told through a powerpoint presentation that this time the theme of International Women’s Day 2022 is “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow”.

The Assistant Development Commissioner, Raju Kumar, while highlighting the importance of the program and other aspects, said that slogan/slogan, painting and article competitions were organised on this occasion. Distinguished women guests motivating the women employees of SEEPZ-SEZ by mentioning their experiences and struggles. Joint Development Commissioner Chandrapal Singh honoured the distinguished women guests with shawls and mementos. On this occasion, citations were given to the women officers and employees for their excellent work in the office by the designated officer Anil Chaudhary. In addition, the winners of the competitions were rewarded by the designated officer RK Jain.

The special feature of this event was that under the leadership of Regional Development Commissioner Shyam Jagannathan ji, the entire process of the event was kept in the official language Hindi. There was a surprising response from the employees present in the program. Imran, an employee, said that people thought Hindi programs would be boring but everyone had a lot of fun. Many people said that now all programs should be in Hindi only. The reaction of Jayesh Ashar, who was present there, was such a dignified atmosphere that I felt that I was watching a film of Rajshree Productions.

Pramila Sharma gave dignity to her operation with Sanskrit examples. Also, everyone was fascinated by the sparklers of humour. On this occasion Harshita Singh presented PPT on SEEPZ-SEZ and Tripti Dhurat on POSH Act 2013, a law related to harassment of women at workplace.
