Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday emphasized the need for better coordination among various stakeholders in disaster-management situations to save life and property.
The Prime Minister said various wings should take up more joint exercises to bring about effective response to emergency situations. He said there is need to bring in global expertise in the field of disaster management.
The Prime Minister statement came while he was chairing the sixth meeting of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in the capital.
Modi also reviewed the activities and ongoing projects undertaken by NDMA.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley were present in the meeting.
