Pan Nalin’s film becomes India’s official entry of Oscar 2023

Mumbai| Last Film Show (Chhello Show), Pan Nalin’s poignant ode to celluloid dreams, becomes India’s official entry of Oscar 2023, will be brought back to India by Siddharth Roy Kapur’s Roy Kapur Films. The Gujarati-language coming-of-age drama has won the hearts of critics and audiences worldwide, and it will now be released in Gujarati theatres and on select screens across the country on October 14, 2022.

Last Film Show (Chhello Show), inspired by director Pan Nalin’s own memories of falling in love with movies as a child in rural Gujarat, is set at the dawn of the digital revolution and follows a nine-year-old boy enthralled by the magic and science of light and shadow that lies behind celluloid film projection. It’s an honest, organic, and emotionally charged drama about movies, food, and friends.
Last Film Show (Chhello Show) had its world premiere as the opening film at Robert DeNiro’s Tribeca Film Festival and has since gone on to win numerous awards at various international film festivals.
