Mumbai| Navratri has arrived, and today marks the first day of the festival. The festival commemorates the famous battle between Durga and the demon Mahishasura to celebrate the triumph of good over evil. Vishal Kotian of Bigg Boss shared his plans and his way of celebrating it, and much more in an exclusive interview with Absolute India news.
“Navratri is a festival of dance, colours, and all-night Garba. I’m from Lalbagh, and we used to spend the entire night playing Garba. It’s a very joyful festival for me” said Vishal
While getting nostalgic the actor shared, “I’ve been celebrating Navratri since I was a child. We used to hop, skip, and jump to different Garba events to play Garba until the wee hours of the morning. Which is not the same due to time constraints, but the enjoyment is the same. People are just as active as they used to be”
“It will be incredible to celebrate Navratri after a two-year hiatus. For me, it’s even more exciting because it’s my first Navratri after Bigg Boss, and I’ll be going to places as a celebrity guest where I used to play Garba before,” the actor said about Navratri after 2 years of Covid.
While sharing his plans the actor said, “I don’t fast, but these 10 days are strictly vegetarian. I am a staunch non-vegetarian, and it is my sacrifice during Navratri or Dussehra. On the 10th day, I eat Jalebi-Fafda, which is a tradition I’ve been following since my childhood.”
