Will Rashtra Kavach OM and Rocketry’s slow start prove to be a boon for Jugjugg Jeeyo?

Mumbai: The month of July kickstarted with two of the much-awaited film releasing in the theatres – Rashtra Kavach Om and Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.

Well, the reviews by critics and the audience’s first-day reaction to both films are out! While Rocketry has a decent start, Rashtra Kavach Om has a dull opening.

Talking about the average box office collection, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect because of its gripping storyline and a stellar performance by R Madhavan, the film manages to earn around 75 lakhs approx. The film was released on limited screens and only in metro cities, simultaneously in English, Tamil and Hindi languages.

The flick faced a box office clash with Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjana Sanghi starrer Rashtra Kavach OM. Unfortunately, Rashtra Kavach Om failed to leave a mark on its opening day. Aditya Roy Kapur’s high-octane actioner managed to garner only Rs. 1.25 cr net on its first day.

Well looking at the analysis, there are hopes for Rocketry to make a hold this weekend, while things look tough for Rashtra Kavach OM.

Commenting on this scenario of two films, Producer and Film Business Analyst Girish Johar says, “Om has not met with expectations and has performed much below par. Surprisingly, it could not gain traction despite being promoted aggressively and given a wide release. On the other hand, Rocketry has received a lot of appreciation and has gotten good feedback. In the South, it has got a good start meanwhile in Hindi it’s a slow start and is expected to build upon for a decent lifetime Box Office.”

It appears that the sluggish opening of Rashtra Kavach: OM and the restricted screening of Rocketry will benefit Raj Mehta’s Jugjugg Jeeyo.

The film, which starred Kiara Advani, Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, and Neetu Singh in prominent parts, received positive reviews from reviewers. According to the box office reports, the film earned a total of Rs 36.93 crore in its first weekend. JugJugg Jeeyo got Rs 53.66 crore on Day 7.

While discussing the same Girish Johar quipped, “All this has benefited JugJugg Jeeyo…it had a decent week 1 and now will be given more exposure in its week two enabling it to have a decent run in week two as well. This will certainly help the film to do above average lifetime Box Office.”
