Shahid Kapoor on his digital debut: The best thing that happened is it didn’t get made into a movie

Mumbai: Actor Shahid Kapoor is all set to make his digital debut with Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK’s Farzi. The series is all set to stream from 10 February. The trailer of it was unveiled on 13 January amidst the presence of cast and makers.

At the launch event in Mumbai, the actor got candid about the new web series. Expressing his excitement on digital debut, he said, “It’s the best start to the year. I was very happy to hear ‘Farzi’ is releasing on February 10 because it’s my birthday month. It’s my first with this show in many ways. One of them being that we started talking about the show even before everybody including the film fraternity considered OTT as an option.”

Shahid revealed that he wanted this story to release in a long storytelling format. “We had strangely discussed the script of
‘Farzi’, 8 years back and DK said that it was a lengthy story for film format”, said Shahid. He went on to say, “the best thing that happened to Farzi was that it didn’t get made into a movie.”

Talking about working with Vijay Sethupathi, Shahid shared, “It’s been a privilege to work with him. Not only shooting, but also while promoting I found his mind I interesting. He is truly an actor at heart and I wish to do much more work with him.”

Revealing what he loved about working in an OTT format, Shahid quipped, “In short format one can be attacking in the way you approach the character. I don’t like attacking characters. In fact, I look forward to an immersive experience as it comes naturally to me as an actor. I want people to get involved as supposed to yelling and telling them to give me attention is not my thing.”
