By Dinesh Zala

Two years later, the beautiful actress Manasi Parekh, who worked as a co-star of Paresh Rawal in the Gujarati film ‘Dear Father’ and won much acclaim, will now be seen opposite actor Sharman Joshi.Let us tell you that Mansi has also worked with Vicky Kaushal in ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ earlier, apart from this she has been a part of Gujarati hit film ‘GolKeri’ and web series. When we talked to him, he shared many interesting things.

After two years you appeared in the Gujarati film ‘Dear Father’, apart from this, in which upcoming film will you be seen?
After Dear Father, I am doing a film with Sharman Joshi, in between I have shot a Hindi film with Pankaj ji, Dimple ji which is going to release very soon, apart from this I am also doing a Gujarati film.

How was the experience of working with Paresh Rawal for the first time in the film ‘Dear Father’?
It was very nice Paresh ji is a very veteran artist, it is every artist’s dream to work with him and got to learn a lot by working with Paresh ji, I have fights, emotional scenes with him, he has been very supportive in all of them. And whenever he comes on the set, he brings with him the experience of one and a half hundred films. But he is so humble and hard working even at this age, so it was great to work with him.

You worked with Vicky Kaushal in ‘Uri’, have worked with other big stars, and now you are doing films continuously, how much does the experience of your past films prove to be of help to you for a new project?
I think you learn something in every project, I made my Bollywood debut with ‘Uri’, and I had a great experience in them, and then did ‘GolKeri’ with Malhar Thakar, which did well at the box office. It was quite a hit, and it is said that when you keep working continuously, you get that much experience, and now back to back films are coming, it feels very good, normal people say that the actress career after marriage and children ends but my career has been very successful after marriage and kids. Be it television or film.

You have lived many female characters in TV and movies, how much have you felt those characters in your real life?
My character Alka in ‘Dear Father’, in real life, I am also a working woman, and I have also seen and experienced a lot of complications, so I have found a similarity in that character, I believe in the life of an actress. Every character has some part or the other. And you have to figure it out how you get it out.

The trends of Gujarati films are moving fast towards Bollywood, yet as an actress, what change do you want to see in Gujarati films?
There are many talented people in the Gujarati film industry, there are good directors, writers, yet sometimes it seems, as it comes to taking risks, very few people take risks, Although I am a producer myself, I have also produced the film ‘GolKeri’. And I am producing a new film, at the moment I can not tell you about it, but you should have fun in any industry you work in. Also, if you feel that there is a need for any change in it, then you should have the ability to bring changes in them. ,That’s why I am creating the work that I want to see as a producer. And the change that is needed is what we want to do by making our film. What happens in Gujarati films is that either a comedy is made or a film like Romkom is made which has the same set up, so we are trying to show different characters and different stories in our films.

How are you making the most of your personal life along with your acting career?
When I am not working, I like to spend time with my family and my daughter and husband, and I work by balancing all these things, there will be many women like me who work by balancing the responsibility of the family. When I am out for months, my daughter is taken care of by my mother or my husband. With my work, I want to show people that you can become a successful actress and you can also have a successful life.

When a film or project is offered, you seek your husband’s advice?
I don’t take advice because their field is different, but discussions keep happening with them about the project. We have an open and understanding relationship. We always support each other in our career.
