Mumbai: Popular playback singer KK breathed his last in Kolkata on May 31 at the age of 53. The singer was in Kolkata to perform live at the concert. After the concert, he went to his hotel room where he felt uneasy and was immediately rushed to hospital. His condition deteriorated, after which he was declared dead.
He was honoured with Gun Salute at Kolkata by the state government in the presence of Mamata Bannerjee and his family.
Singer KK’s mortal remains had arrived in Mumbai at his residence in Andheri on Wednesday night.
Veteran singer Hariharan was seen arriving at KK’s residence to pay his final respect.
His daughter Tamara, took to her social media handle and penned a heartfelt note reminiscing her father.
Meanwhile, KK’s funeral in Versova Hindu Cemetery has commenced. As the singer’s final trip began from his house, his son led the burial procession. KK’s colleagues from the film and music industries are gathering for the burial and paying their respects to the singer. Vishal Bharadwaj and his singer wife Rekha were seen visiting the singer’s home.
