Mumbai: Looks like Anees Bazmee directorial Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 remains the first choice of moviegoers, as the film enters the 100 crore club on the 9th day after it’s release. Despite the release of Ayushmann Khuranna starter Anek and Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick, the film continues to do wonders at box office.
The film, which stars Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, Tabu and Rajpal Yadav among many others, had a bumper opening on its first day of release as it collected Rs 14.11 crore. It was the biggest from any Hindi film this year, beating other projects like ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’, among others.
The film collected a whooping amount of Rs. 92.05 crore in the first week. It continued to grow strong on the 8th and 9th days by collecting Rs 6.52 crore and Rs 11.35 crore.
Thus, it managed to pave a way for becoming the fifth Hindi film to enter 100 crore club by minting a total amount of 109.92 crore till date.
By crossing the ₹100 crore mark on Saturday, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 became Kartik Aaryan’s second film to hit a century. His last film which entered the coveted club was Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety in 2018.
For the unversed, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is the sequel to Akshay Kumar’s 2007 movie of the same name which also starred Vidya Balan in the lead.
On the work front, Kartik Aaryan has film like Freddy, Captain India, and Shehzada in the pipeline, while Kiara Advani has Jugjugg Jeeyo, Govinda Mera Naam and RC 15 in her kitty.
