Boycott trend is nothing but a trend will not last-long: Shefali Shah

Mumbai| Shefali Shah is one of the most talented actors in Bollywood’s tinsel town. She has given memorable performances in films such as Monsoon Wedding, Waqt: The Race Against Time, Dil Dhadakne Do, and the recently released Darlings, alongside Alia Bhatt. Her acting range and skills have earned her both critical acclaim and the audience’s love and adoration. She is currently preparing for the second season of her highly successful series Delhi Crime. During this time, she spoke with a news portal about the ongoing boycott and cancellation culture in Bollywood.

Boycott trends and cancel culture of Bollywood movies and actors on social media have recently gotten a lot of attention. Shefali Shah was asked the same question in an interview. In response to the issue, the actress stated that she believes boycott culture will not last long.

She said, “It’s a trend. I don’t think it’s long-lasting.” When asked about the perception that Bollywood might be nearing its end, she said, “Really! I don’t think it’s possible. Films is a culture like cricket. It can’t die…it can’t. People have their point of view, they have their opinions, but there is also a lot of love and appreciation that we get. I think we should just take it in our stride and just say ‘we tried’ and we move on.”

Recently, the trailer for Shefali Shah’s second season of OTT’s Delhi Crime was released. Last year, the first season made history by becoming the first Indian show to win an International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series.
