Mumbai| Thank God’s first-look posters and trailer generated a lot of buzzes, but the film is now in legal trouble. According to a leading portal, lawyer Himanshu Srivastava has filed a case against director Indra Kumar, Ajay Devgn, and Siddhartha Malhotra in a Jaunpur court
Thank God’s trailer, according to the petitioner, mocks religion and has hurt religious sentiments. Himanshu claimed in his petition that Ajay, dressed in a suit, is seen playing Chitragupta and is seen cracking jokes and using objectionable language in one scene. “Chitragupta is regarded as the Lord of Karma and keeps a record of a man’s good and bad deeds. Such depiction of Gods can create an unpleasant situation since it hurts religious sentiments,” the petition said.
For the unversed, on November 18, the petitioner’s statement will be recorded.
Thank God, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Ajay Devgn, is one of the year’s most anticipated films. Rakul Preet Singh plays the lead in the film as well.
