It’s not always about living life, it’s about ‘loving and enjoying it to the fullest’ and this is what forms the crux of the story.

Story begins from a residential society wherein both old and young people live. The main protagonist of the movie Sumit very often gets irritated and disturbed by the nagging behavior of old people in his neighborhoods. Every now and then he keeps having arguments with them.
Sumit(J.S. Randhawa) shares a close bond with his sister-in-laws Aashi and Sonal who work for the welfare of the elderly people. While Aashi is sensible and mature, Sonal is a happy-go-lucky person.
The story gradually revolves around how Aashi leads him to change his attitude and they together decide to open a day care center for elderly. In this course, he understands that even though the old people look happy but they are lonely within.
While some elders don’t find peace in their house due to children fighting, in some cases kids don’t have time for their parents while some are lonely. The daycare centre is built with the impression that it provides them a platform for enjoyment and fun in each other’s company.
The day care centre was named 10 nahi 40 indicating that life is not to be counted by the years you lived or years that are left but by the years you lived happily and enjoyed.

Talking about the performance, veteran actors Birbal, Manmauji and Manoj Bakshi’s flawless portrayal of their characters have added to the beauty of the film.
Their acting looked completely natural and it is the comic timing add the much needed spark to the film.
J.S. Randhawa, Sonal Mudgal and Aashi Singh too have done justice to their roles.

The film has been balanced very well between the entertainment and emotional quotient.

The movie sends out a message to the youngsters to be more understanding and sensitive towards the elder people.
The best thing about the film is a significant message is conveyed without unnecessary exaggerations and in a humorous way.

However, it is the film’s underwhelming music that’s a dampener.

The narrative is not sufficiently cinematic, rather it is simplistic and sanitized. The pace of scenes is either too fast or too slow.
10 nahi 40 is uneven but heartfelt. Despite the flaws, the emotions connect.
