On Friday, a special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Mumbai gave its verdict in connection with the death of actor Jiah Khan. Actor Sooraj Pancholi, accused of abetting Jiah Khan’s suicide, was acquitted in the case.
The verdict of the same was pronounced today at 10:30, where Sooraj arrived with his actress mother Zarina Wahab. Post the judgement, he took to his Instagram stories and wrote, “The truth always wins.”
Jiah Khan’s mother Rabia Khan reacts to the verdict. In conversation with media, she said, “The charge of abetment to suicide has gone. But how did my child die? This is a case of murder…will approach the high court.”
For those unaware, Jiah, who was best known for starring in Nishabd opposite Amitabh Bachchan, was found dead at her home in Mumbai on June 3, 2013. She was 25. Based on a letter seized a week later, purportedly written by her, she had allegedly spoken about her troubled relationship with Sooraj, and said she was physically and mentally abuse by him.
