Situation better than other states – Centre also appreciated: CM

Team Absolute|Bhopal Informing about the status of Corona in the state, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that in the battle against Corona in Madhya Pradesh, work has been done on a war footing, as a result of which the recovery rate of Covid patients in the state is 77.30. Chouhan said that the recovery rate earlier was only 19.03 on 1st of May. The testing capacity in the state was only 300 tests per day on 23 March, 2020, out of which only 60 tests could be conducted daily. Now the state’s testing capacity is 29 thousand 780 tests per day. Apart from this, from 3 labs, we have now established 78 functional labs. There are 852 fever clinics working in the state. Arrangement of sample collection has been made at the fever clinic. Chief Minister also expected the cooperation of the opposition in the decisive war against Corona. Chouhan said that we should all fight this pandemic and defeat it. Although the condition of Madhya Pradesh is better than many states of India, yet everyone is expected to follow the precautions, be cautious, get out of the houses only in case of urgent work and cooperate with the government in following the protocol. Financial assistance has been provided to the families of Corona warriors in 20 cases under the Chief Minister’s Covid Warriors Welfare Scheme. Chouhan said that in the last 6 months from the lockdown to unlock, the state has succeeded in controlling infection to a great extent. There are about 22 thousand active cases in the state at present, which is 20 percent of the total cases. In view of these cases, Madhya Pradesh ranks at 16th place in the country in active cases. The condition of the state has been constantly improving. Capacity of beds in hospitals has also been increased. Common beds, which were 2428 earlier, are now 24 thousand 560. Similarly, number of ICU and isolation beds has also been increased. Chouhan said that he has been reviewing Corona control every day for the last six months. Chouhan informed that the supply of 20 tonnes of oxygen in Madhya Madhya Pradesh is from Maharashtra. As much as 50 tonnes of oxygen was available in the state, which has been increased to 120 tonnes. This capacity will be increased to 150 tonnes by 30th September. Fifty tonnes of additional oxygen has been made available daily with cooperation of the Government of India. Action has been initiated to set up a 200 tonne capacity oxygen plant in Hoshangabad district. Chouhan informed that the “Kill- Corona” massive campaign was launched in two phases in the state in July and August for public awareness. Subsequently, the “Sahyog se Suraksha” campaign was launched, under which five mantras including, to promote protective measures, to maintain changed life style, to refute misleading information, to obtain public cooperation and to protect the infected person from discrimination, were adopted and implemented. Masks are being distributed under ‘Ek Mask-Anek Zindagi’ campaign across the state. About 53 percent of the patients in the state are undergoing treatment in home isolation.
