Farmers greet CM Chouhan for farmer-friendly decisions

Team Absolute|Bhopal Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was felicitated for his farmer friendly decisions by the farmers on Thursday. Chouhan was honoured with a bouquet and adorned with a turban. Limited number of farmers took part in the event while following social distancing norms. The farmers said that the Chouhan’s decision to provide benefits to the farmers in the Kisan Samman Nidhi to extend financial support to small and marginal farmers of the state is historic. By extending the fund, Chief Minister has simplified the difficult life of farmers who provide us grains. Chouhan said that farmers’ interest is the main priority of the government. The former government did not deposit the state’s share of crop insurance amount of the farmers, due to which the farmers remained deprived of the benefits. The former government rounded up it loan waiver work at Rs 6000 crores although it had promised to waive Rs 50 thousand crores. About one and a half times more amount has already been provided by the present government within six months. Along with this, decision has also been taken to provide Rs 10 thousand to the farmers under Kisan Samman Nidhi. In addition to the annual provision of Rs 6000 under the Pradhan Mantri Samman Nidhi, the state government will also provide two installments of Rs 2000 thus directly benefitting the small farmers. On this occasion, Minister of State for Panchayat and Rural Development Ramkhelavan Patel and former Minister Rampal Singh were present.
