New Delhi: The Federation of World Sindhi Association has expressed shock and strongly condemned the communal violence over the arrest of a Hindu Priest and denial of bail to him in a case of sedition in Bangladesh.
Mahesh Jethmalani, International President of the Federation, in a statement, urged the Bangladesh authorities to protect the Hindu minorities there and put a stop to the violence unleashed in Chittagong following denial of bail to priest Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahamachari who had raised voice against atrocities committed on the minorities since the August 5 change in regime in Bangladesh.
Jethmalani said the Federation is concerned not only about the Sindhi minority community but the entire minority Hindu community in Bangladesh because such violence is a crime against humanity.
Jethmalani urged the people of Bangladesh to maintain peace and not to indulge in violence.
