I hope my film is celebrated the same way we have celebrated films across the country: Nani

Mumbai| Nani, the versatile star of the Telugu film industry, is set to release his highly anticipated project Dasara this month. The highly anticipated project, which marks the popular actor’s onscreen reunion with the National award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh.

The film is releasing on 30 March. Ahead of the release, the cast of the film interacted with the media and answered a volley of questions.

Talking about RRR winning Oscar and content-driven stories churning out from Telugu cinema, Nani said, “I think Indian cinema, in general, is reaching places in different ways. We are just trying to do our bit. I hope that my film is celebrated the same way we have celebrated films across the country.”

Reacting to comparison with Pushpa, the star said, “In any rural story of this type, the setting, clothing and props used are similar. But the comparison won’t happen once the film releases in theatres.”

Talking about lines between regional and Pan-India cinema and stars getting blurred, the actor said, “Since childhood, we have gone to theatres in Hyderabad to watch blockbuster Hindi films. And the audience today is watching our films in theatres. So it has become neutral now. Now it looks like the game is balanced.”

On the same day, Ajay Devgn starrer Bholaa is also hitting the theatres. Talking about clash, the actor told, “when I came to Mumbai for the first time to promote Makkhi, Ajay Devgn was present at the press meet. It was because of his support I was introduced here. Now, even second time I feel I have his moral support with Bholaa releasing. So if I am in Mumbai, I will watch Bholaa first and then Dasara.”
