Amrish Puri’s grandson, Vardhan Puri, is a rising actor. Vardhan recently spoke up about his thoughts on Bollywood, his experience, and much more in an exclusive interview with Absolute India news.

Vardhan started the interview by sharing how he decided to be a part of the industry, “My family and I at a very young age knew that I would do something artistic. I wanted to sit with my grandfather but back then I wasn’t in that position so I promised myself that one day I would achieve that kind of status and experience.”

Being Amrish Puri’s grandson is a great responsibility for Vardhan. The actor while talking about it shared, “I take no pressure. I believe it is a great responsibility to keep the families’ flag flying high and carry on his legacy, and all I have to do is make the perfect film, do incredible work and give my 500%.  Just make sure he’s smiling at me from above, and I’ll be OK.”

Later while sharing his opinion on how this year has been tough on Bollywood, Vardhan said, “It’s been difficult, but thanks to Drishyam 2, things are great again. After seeing the success of even a film like Kantara in Hindi, you realise that the public doesn’t have money to spend on a ticket, which is why movies don’t succeed, just falls flat. People would not have made Kantara a blockbuster if they did not have money, as the film does not even belong to our state. It is from another state, which shows that people would seek out wonderful stories.”

Later while sharing if the boycott trend made him consider the OTT release of his film, the actor said, “I believe that OTT and cinema releases have nothing to do with the boycott trend, but rather with the goal of the producers. Some high-concept films should only be available on OTT, while others provide giant-size experiences that can only be appreciated in a theatre. There is also the actor, studio, and popular appeal to consider, therefore I don’t believe the release of any film in theatres or on OTT has anything to do with the boycott trend.”
