Shruti Haasan on working in a male-dominated industry: I don’t think it’s fair to single out cinema …

Shruti Haasan is one of Bollywood’s and South India’s most outspoken actresses. Whether it’s her career or her love life, the diva never fails to express herself on any issue. The Salaar star recently took part in a debate in which she was asked about the film business is obviously male-dominated. Shruti Haasan responded in her signature flair, adding that film cannot hold this label on its own, especially when our culture, in general, is overwhelmingly male-dominated.

She went on to say that cinema and art, in general, are merely reflections of the culture we live in. According to Shruti Haasan, “I think we live in a male-dominated society. I don’t think it’s fair to single out cinema as cinema is a reflection of telling stories of what we see. Sometimes it becomes a chicken and egg situation but mostly I would say art imitates life.”

Concerning her professional responsibilities, the actress will play the female lead in Prashanth Neel’s action comedy Salaar, alongside Prabhas. It is expected that the Radhe Shayam actress would play two roles in Salaar. Shruti Haasan will also appear in Chiru 154 alongside Megastar Chiranjeevi, as well as NBK 107 alongside Balakrishna.
