Rhea Chakraborty responded to a fan apologising for “what media done” to her and her family. Following the death of her partner, actor Sushant Singh Rajput, in 2020, Rhea has received public scrutiny and abuse on social media sites. Rhea was dating Sushant at the time of his death on June 14, 2020.

Rhea hosted an Ask Me Anything session with her followers on Instagram Stories, writing, “Quick chat? #askrc.” She shared a Boomerang video of herself. Rhea donned a peach blouse, and blue denim, knotted her hair and wore earrings in the shot.

In response, a fan wrote, “Please take care, we feel sorry for what media did to you and your family.” Though Rhea didn’t write anything, she posted a string of folded hands emojis to respond to the fan. Other fans had several questions for Rhea in the impromptu AMA (ask me anything) session. A fan asked, “How are you dealing with mental health now?” She responded, “Yoga. Meditation. Therapy. Good home-cooked food. Faith in god (folded hands emoji).”

When a fan asked, “Who is your favv person?” Rhea shared a photo of herself with her brother Showik Chakraborty and tagged him. The photo was apparently taken during an event. In the shot, Rhea donned cream ethnic clothing, while Showik sported a black and white suit.

When asked for advice for “someone suffering anxiety attacks,” Rhea wrote, “Speak to close friends and family. Seek professional help. Therapy works very well for me. Meditation. Good vibes.” On her last Instagram Stories, Rhea shared a new snapshot of herself and commented, “Have a great day, sending love and light! We will chat again soon.”

Rhea was charged with narcotics trafficking in connection with Sushant’s death. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested her in the narcotics case and eventually freed her on bail. Later, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) joined the investigation. The NCB said last month that Rhea received multiple ganja deliveries from other co-accused. The episode’s media coverage was also criticised for its insensitive portrayal of both Sushant’s death and the allegations against Rhea.

Rhea was most recently seen in Rummy Jafry’s 2021 film Chehre. She was spotted with Amitabh Bachchan and Emran Hashmi.
