Raj Pandit lends his voice for brother Divyansh Pandit’s short film, Kashmiriyat.

In a first, Divyansh Pandit brings brother Raj Pandit on board to sing a significant song for his short film, Kashmiriyat, starring Zarina Wahab.

Mumbai: “It is never easy weaving a story around Kashmir, especially given its history of massacre and the perpetual conflict. So, going by the dimensions captured in this story, it demanded a song that would not only accentuate the climax but also personify the land and narrate its heart wrenching feelings. I couldn’t have thought of anyone but Raj to sing for us. He is a rockstar. When I suggested Raj to Semal & Nikhil, my music composers, they instantly agreed & were stoked about It.”, said director Divyansh Pandit. With a deep rooted connection to the valley of India, Divyansh decided to request brother Raj Pandit to sing a song for this short. The song is composed by music composer duo, Semal – Nikhil, co-composed by Apoorvv Paliwal and penned by lyricist, Abhishek Singh.

When Raj was asked about his collaboration with Divyansh, he said, “It was really special to finally collaborate with my brother Divyansh for the first time, that too on a subject that’s extremely close to our hearts. The composers Semal – Nikhil have done a great job with the song and made the process super easy for me, even though we recorded remotely from our own homes. The song depicts the various perspectives that are portrayed in ‘Kashmiriyat’ and I’m sure this brave film will strike a chord with the viewers.”

When asked Semal & Nikhil about their experience, they said, “Kashmiriyat was very different. From background score to the song, the experience was extremely emotional and thrilling at the same time & Raj singing our song was icing on the cake.”

Releasing on the 12th of August, 2020 on the YouTube channel of Wild Buffaloes Entertainment, this emotional ride will surely trigger many thoughts
