Payal Ghosh to be seen in the upcoming film Therodum Veedhiyile opposite Naveen Chandra

Mumbai Payal Ghosh starrer Tamil film Therodum Veedhiyile will be releasing on one of the major OTT platforms soon. She plays a simple Tamil girl from the village and it’s incredible to even imagine someone so urban-like Payal who hails from a metro city and doesn’t know the language to play a part so convincingly. We raise a toast to her on that. We are sure it won’t have been a cakewalk for her even though the talent she has can be handy. But playing a Tamil girl when you are not from the place and do not know the language can be a herculean task. Let’s just hear it from Payal herself.

Here is what she says, “When I went to meet the director and he didn’t know Hindi or English and I didn’t know Tamil. The director said that you look like a Korean doll and we wanted a Tamil beauty and I asked them how exactly wants. So I was told to see how a Tamil village girl. So I had to lose cheeks and worked on my complexion. My weight was less but I still lost more than 10 pounds and met the director again. He was fine and he wished me luck. It was a typically raw and realistic Tamil film. We shot this film in erode. After my first schedule, the DOP and Director came to me and he literally was in tears. He said I was amazing and he was surprised at the dialogue delivery when I didn’t even know Tamil. He got more than what he has expected. It was a great experience. I am very excited about its release in the OTT. The songs are amazing. All renowned singers have sung them. It was a lot of hard work. I went 7 days before the shoot to learn the body language of a Tamil girl. I used to go to villages and see their body language and their dialect. It was an absolutely amazing experience. I observed them for a week and when I gave my first shot, the entire set clapped and that means so much. I would be grateful to God for being able to do as much without really going through the difficult grind.”

We would ask every one of our readers to watch the film once it premiers on OTT for the work that our favorite, Payal has put it. It’s not just rosy makeup and dance in front of the screen. It takes courage, resilience and hard work and Payal is an embodiment of that.
