NCB drafts charges against Rhea Chakraborty for obtaining drugs

Rhea Chakraborty was booked on Wednesday for purchasing drugs, months after she was released on bail in the narcotics case involving late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. According to sources, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) filed a charge sheet against her and 34 others.

The update was validated by a leading news portal. The tweet stated, “Draft charges submitted against Rhea Chakroborty in Special NDPS court of receiving deliveries of ganja from Samuel Miranda, Showik Charoborty & Dipesh Sawant & others and handing over those deliveries to late actor Sushant Singh Rajput while making payments for them in yr 2020.”

In addition to Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty has been charged. According to the NCB, Rhea has been accused of acquiring and funding the acquisition of a minor amount of marijuana, as reported by leading news channel. According to the NCB, in the year 2020, Rhea obtained drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput, delivered them to him, and even paid for the delivery on many occasions. Not just Rhea, but also the late actor’s housemate Siddharth Pithani, has been implicated as a suspect.

The drafted charges have now been filed in a special NDPS court by the NCB. The anti-drug agency has suggested charging the 35 defendants under various provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS). If Rhea Chakraborty is found guilty, she may face up to ten years in jail.
