Kangana hopes to regain her social media account as Musk takes over as new owner

Elon Musk’s firing of Twitter CEO Parag Agarwal was welcomed by actor Kangana Ranaut on Instagram. Twitter suspended Kangana’s account in May of last year for “repeated violations of Twitter Rules specifically the Hateful Conduct policy and Abusive Behaviour policy” She also shared a fan’s post in which she expressed hope that the actor would return to the microblogging platform soon.

Musk took over as the new owner of Twitter Inc on Thursday, firing top executives such as CEO Parag Agrawal, Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal, and legal affairs and policy chief Vijaya Gadde. He had previously accused them of misleading him and providing little clarity about how he intends to achieve the goals he has set for the social media platform.

An alleged statement by former US President Donald Trump indicating that his Twitter account would be reinstated by Monday began to circulate online shortly after the restructuring was announced. Twitter also suspended Trump’s account for multiple violations. The statement, however, was later proven to be false.

Kangana’s Twitter account was ‘permanently suspended for repeated violations of Twitter rules’ in May 2021. The actor had violated Twitter’s Hateful Conduct and Abusive Behaviour policies. She had claimed racism and told a leading portal, “Twitter has only proved my point they’re Americans and by birth, a white person feels entitled to enslave a brown person, they want to tell you what to think, speak or do. I have many platforms I can use to raise my voice, including my own art in the form of cinema.”

Before his controversial takeover, Musk had earlier written on Twitter, “A beautiful thing about Twitter is how it empowers citizen journalism – people are able to disseminate news without an establishment bias.
