Fans show disappointment for not being able to see the uncut version of Pathaan on big screen

Mumbai| Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand and starring Shah Rukh Khan, premiered on an OTT platform on Wednesday after breaking box office records during its theatrical run. Following the film’s digital release, fans were quick to identify scenes that were not included in the theatrical cut.

One of the deleted scenes depicts Russians torturing Pathaan mercilessly. Another brief scene depicts his triumphant return to the RAW headquarters after being rescued by Tiger. In a third scene, Rubai is questioned by Indian forces about Jim, played by John.

Audiences took to social media to share screenshots of the deleted scenes, expressing their disappointment at not being able to see them on the big screen. Fans were especially disappointed by the one depicting Shah Rukh re-entering the RAW office in style.

Siddharth Anand previously stated that a scene that elaborated on Pathaan’s backstory was also cut from the theatrical cut.

To note, Pathaan, which also stars Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Dimple Kapadia, and Ashutosh Rana, was released in theaters on January 25. The plot revolves around a RAW agent, played by SRK, and his efforts to protect India from a lethal attack. Pathaan grossed Rs 1046 crore worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Hindi language film.
