Arjun Kapoor breaks his silence on the boycott trend, saying “ab zyada hone laga hai…unfair hai”

Arjun Kapoor is one of the most promising actors in Bollywood’s tinsel town. He made his debut in 2012 with Ishaqzaade, co-starring Parineeti Chopra, and quickly established himself. He has a tremendous fan base, and people like seeing him on the big screen. The actor was most recently seen in Mohit Suri’s Ek Villain Returns, in which he co-starred with Tara Sutaria, Disha Patani, and John Abraham. He received accolades for his portrayal of Gautam Mehra.

The boycott appeals made against Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan on social media recently had an impact. In a recent interview with a leading news portal, Arjun discussed social media boycotts of films: “I think we made a mistake by being silent about it and that was our decency but people have started taking advantage of that. I think we made a mistake by thinking that ‘our work will speak for ourselves’. You know you don’t always need to get your hand dirty but I guess we tolerated it a lot and now people have made this a habit.” Arjun added that “ab zyada hone laga hai…unfair hai

He went on to say that the industry has to band together and do something about it since what people write about them or the hashtags that trend is distant from reality, and when the films perform well at the box office, people enjoy them not because of their surnames, but because of the film. Arjun stated that on Friday mornings, the spark and exhilaration in fans for a new film, as well as the glitter of the business, is fading… “Lagatar keechad uchaalte jayenge toh nayi gaadi bhi thodi si shine kho degi na? Humne toh kaafi keechad jhel liya hai pichle kuch saalon mein kyunki we have turned a blind eye on it,” he said.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Arjun will be seen next in The Lady Killer and Kuttey.
