Akshay Kumar is one of the most bankable actors in the industry currently, and his back-to-back releases prove it. After his recent release Raksha Bandhan, the actor is now gearing up for the release of suspense-thrilled Cuttputlli.
The trailer of the flick was unveiled today(20 August) amidst the presence of media. At the trailer launch event, the cast and makers of the film were present.
During the press conference, Actor Akshay Kumar was asked about his back-to-back releases to which he said, “Due to pandemic, theatres were shut due to which many films could not see the light of the day. And so films got piled up because of which my 3-4 are also among them.”
The actor also cleared the air that Oh my God 2 is not released in October. He said, “Oh my God 2 is definitely not coming out in October.”
The actor was later asked that, in times like today when films are not working at the box office, do you think it is a safe space to make films for ott?
To which he replied, “No! films are not working it is our fault, it is my fault, I have to make the changes I have to understand what the audience wants. I want to do my changes, I want to dismantle the way I think, and what kind of films I should do. So it is nobody else to be blame but it is me.”
He further elaborated on OTT being a safe space of release and said, “No, it is not a safe that also requires people to say that yes, we like the film or we don’t like the film. So it is got nothing to do with safe. It’s not a safety net. Even here, when your film is released, there are people—media, critics, and the audience—watching it. They give their opinion on whether they liked the film or not. So there is nothing called “safe.” In the end, you have to work hard.”
On the work front, the actor has Cuttputlli, which will premiere on OTT and stars Rakul Preet Singh and Sargun Mehta. Apart from this, the actor also has Oh My God 2, Selfiee, Ram Setu, Soorarai Pottru remake, and Capsule Gill, among others.
