Actor Nasirr Khan roped in for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming period drama

Mumbai: Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for big-budget period dramas that have an ensemble cast, magnificent sets, and larger-than-life tales. His last release Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt was a hit and was praised by viewers as well. The film not only took the domestic box office by storm but also performed well internationally.

Now, the ace filmmaker is all set to dabble into the digital space with his upcoming project ‘Heeramandi’.

Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, and Aditi Rao Hydari are likely to play important roles in the series. If reports are to be believed, unlike SLB’s previous projects, this will be his darkest, most gritty work ever.

A few days back, it was reported that actor Fardeen Khan has joined the cast of Heeramandi. And now actor Nasirr Khan, who is best known for his work in The Baghban, Hum Saath Saath Hai, The Last Show, Lunchbox and Wazir will be part of Heeramandi. The actor is currently seen in TV show Shubhlabh. However, details about his role in Heeramandi is under wraps.

For the unversed, Nasirr is son of veteran actor Johnny Walker and has been part of shows such as ‘Aashirwad’, ‘Woh’, ‘Kkusum’, ‘Kabhi Aaye Na Judai’, ‘Kyunki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, ‘Amber Dhara’, ‘Har Ghar Kuchh Kehta Hai’ and ‘Kittie Party’.

Meanwhile, Heeramandi is not a film, but an eight-episode web series. The show will revolve around the lives of the courtesans and is a period drama.
