Chennai,Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) President M.K.Stalin on Thursday reiterated his demand for a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the alleged Rs.110-crore scancal relating to the PM-Kisan Scheme.
He also condemned Chief Minister K. Palaniswami for blaming the self-registration facility provided under the PM-Kisan Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme for the scam.
In a statement issued here, Stalin said as per the scheme, it is the duty of the government to identify the beneficiaries, ensuring the veracity of the information given in the application forms and uploading the same in the PM-Kisan website.
Stalin said it is also the duty of the government to check whether five per cent of the beneficiaries were indeed genuine.
The DMK leader also asked why the AIADMK government had dropped the post of Secretariat Coordinating Officer for the scheme.
