The DLF Golf and Country Club, home of numerous prestigious Asian and European Tour professional tournaments, has been honoured with the coveted Asia Pacific Order of Zenith by Asia Pacific Golf Group at the Asian Golf Awards 2018.
The award ceremony was part of the 2018 Asia Pacific Golf Summit which was staged from November 1-3 in Bangkok.
While the DLF Golf and Country Club became the first golf club of the country to receive this honour, Aakash Ohri, the Senior Executive Director of DLF5 received the title of Asia Pacific Personality of the year. The ceremony was attended by delegates from over 22 countries.
A unique award designed to recognise distinguished golf clubs and permanently enshrine these clubs in a hallowed class all their own, the Asia Pacific Order of Zenith is the highest and most prestigious award reserved for a select few golf clubs in Asia.
The prestigious and much sought after Asian Golf Awards are devoted to recognising and honouring the best in the Asia Pacific Golf industry and are widely regarded as the “Oscars” of golf awards in Asian golf industry. The Best Locker Room award also went to DLF Golf and Country Club.
The DLF club boasts of a brand new 18 holes Championship Golf Course designed by Gary Player commissioned in 2015 and the original 9-hole course designed by Arnold Palmer.
Over the past decade and a half, this club has hosted many Asian and European Tour professional tournaments, including the Asian, Australian, and European co-sanctioned Johnnie Walker Classic in 2008.
Among other tournaments hosted include European Tour-sanctioned events like the Avantha Masters (2010 2011 and 2012), the Hero Men’s Indian Open 2017 and six editions of the Hero Women’s Indian Open.
