Her dancing skills were evident when she danced to glory in the Go Go Govinda number with ace dancer-choreographer, Prabhu Deva but Sonakshi Sinha’s recent dancing movies in her soon to be released film, Noor, have made her a hot favourite among party-goers, according to choreographer, Adil Sheikh. Adil who recently won the Filmfare award for the Kar Gayi Chulli number for his signature steps in Kapoor & Sons, feels that Sonakshi has made a “style statement” with her rocking moves” in the ‘Gulabi Aankhen’and ‘Move Your Lakk’ numbers, in the film, which have been hailed by the youth, “Gulaabi Aankhen is a celebrated song of yesteryears and it was a challenge to give it a distinct identity. While Amaal Mallik’s rendition made a difference, it was Sonakshi’s looks, costumes and above all the way she grooved to the number that gave it an altogether different feel. Today it has become the party number to unwind at pubs and discotheques. There is an inherent dancer in Sonakshi, waiting to explode on the dance floor. I am sure Sonakshi will be hailed as the new youth icon, with her cool style.”

He also recalls Sonakshi’s extempore dancing skills for the ‘Move Your Lakk’ number from the film, “We did not rehearse for the song and just got her to groove. It was straight on. I told everyone including her that we wanted to make it real and natural and she was fantastic. The results are there for everyone to see on screen,” he said, adding that Sonakshi was among those stars he enjoyed working with, after Alia Bhatt in Kapoor & Sons.

When Sonakshi was asked about this she said, “I enjoy dancing and I have an instant connect to the music. The Move Your Lakk number was extempore and it was not rehearsed. That is what Adil was very impressed with. When I get such numbers which have the potential to become huge hits, I just want to go all out and dance like it’s nobody’s business. That made the difference,” she said.
