Good content will always transcend platforms and boundaries” says Filmmaker Samit Kakkad

Mumbai The latest web series, Indori Ishq helmed by filmmaker, Samit Kakkad, is gaining popularity among the youth. Speaking about the same he says “For me, the manner in which the show is crafted is one that resonates with the youth. We have all been in and out of love and being able to portray that was important for me”.

Currently working on another series with a major platform and two feature films with filmmaker Sanjay Gupta, he says “Good content will always transcend platforms and boundaries. Currently the times are exciting to be telling stories, the budgets don’t excite me, what excites me is the story being told. I am excited about collaborating with a filmmaker like Sanjay Gupta, who’s films I have seen growing up.” When asked about what is it that he is developing with the filmmaker he quips saying “All I’ll say is that it’s a story that needed to be told and is one that is both inspiring and shocking”.

With films like Half ticket, Aayana Ka Bayna, Ashcharya #@ck it! Among others to his credit, Kakkad is currently also finishing his latest titled 36 Gunn starring well known marathi star Santosh Juvekar in the lead. “36 Gunn is unlike any other marathi film ever seen before. I am not constrained by the language I tell my stories in, it’s telling good stories that is important” he adds.

When asked how he’s been spending the lockdown he adds ” I have been collaborating and writing a bank of stories I want to tell. From romantic stories to underdog tales to action features, I’m extremely happy with what my team and I have managed to come up with. Exciting times like ahead” he ends.
